About NIOS

The full form of NIOS is the National Institute of Open Schooling. Earlier it was known as NOS or National Open School. NOS or National Open School was established in November 1989.

The main aim of this board is to provide education to all the children of India, who are not able to get a formal education. This board is helpful for those children who can not go to regular schools. The reason can be financial or geographical.

This board is providing various academic courses to all who wish to do the same. These courses include general and academic courses i.e. Secondary (10th Class) and Senior Secondary (12th Class) Courses. The board provides these courses through ODL Open and Distance Learning System. Besides these courses, the board also provides various vocational and professional courses.

The board provides elementary-level courses also. These courses are provided through Open Basic Education Programme i.e. OBE. This board has the authority to provide certificates up to pre-degree courses. The official Website of this board is http://dled.nios.ac.in/.

NIOS DELED: Diploma in Elementary Education

The National Institute of Open Schooling provides diploma courses for untrained teachers. These untrained teachers are in-service teachers. Or we can say that they are teaching in schools. These teachers include both primary and upper-primary teachers. On this website, we are going to provide you with Pdf books. These books are officially released by the NIOS. The books will be helpful in preparing for your exams.

As per the guidelines by NCERT, now it is necessary to have a Diploma or certificate in teaching in-service teachers.
