What is the Ujwal Portal 134a ?
The Ujwal Portal is a website started by the Haryana government for the 2025-26 school year. It ensures private schools reserve 25% seats for children from poor families (EWS category) or disadvantaged groups (like orphans or children with disabilities) in Class 1 or Pre-Primary classes. Prior to this new name it was known as Haryana 134 a Admission.
The schools are instructed to give free admission to poor students in the entry level class of their institutions. The parents can apply to those recognized private schools which are not more than 1 km away from their house. In these schools 25% seats are reserved for poor and special category students.
The students who got admission in the academic session 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25 under Cheerag Scheme or 134a rule will be allowed to continue their education free of cost in the same school.
