The registration process for JBT exams in 2024
The HPBOSE conducts the CET for JBT every year to identify the students who qualify to take up the 2-year course of Diploma in Elementary Education. The registration process is very simple. You need to apply online by the given date in the notice. The examination dates are recently released.
It is a 2-year diploma in elementary education. After passing this course you can be a JBT teacher.
Once you qualify in the entrance examination, you will be eligible to take up the JBT course for 2 years. Eligible students can apply at both private and Government colleges in HP.
Point to mention that this will be a 2-hour examination, scheduled on, starting at 11 am and finishing at 1 pm.

Eligibility Criterion for applying at the entrance
The eligibility of candidates is judged based on the following categories-
- Nationality: Only Indian Citizens are eligible to apply for a JBT course entrance test.
- Domicile: If you are applying for JBT entrance under HPBOSE, then it’s essential that the candidate also belongs to the state of Himachal Pradesh only.
- Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed a minimum of 10+2 standard or equivalent from a board recognized in India and especially in HP.
- Marks: To qualify, the candidate needs to secure a minimum mark of 50% in the exam for qualification.
- Appearing: Even students appearing currently in the year just before the qualifying examination are eligible to apply for the JBT.
- Limitation on Age: Candidates aging between 18 to 32 years are eligible to submit the application.
There will be a 5% relaxation on marks for students belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH category. As per age is concerned, students falling under the 2nd category can apply to 37 years.
Application fees for the JBT CET 2024
After completion of the application form, the candidates are supposed to pay the fees the application form. The page will automatically lead you to the link for the application fees payment gateway. This fee can be paid off with the help of Online banking, and cards- both credit and debit.

How to Download the JBT Entrance Admit Card?
As mentioned above you can download your admit card 4 days before the date of examination. The below step-by-step guide will help you achieve the same easily-
- Visit the official website of HPBOSE.
- Click on the tab on the upper side of the home page named “CET/ Vacancy”.
- On the new webpage click on the link named “CET 2024”.
- On the next screen click on the “Download” link to get your to admit card.
- Before downloading, you will need to enter your login details.
- Enter your application number and DOB to log in and successfully download the JBT entrance admit card.
Once you have the admit card in hand, remember to keep a hard copy print of the same. The exam halls don’t entertain e-admit cards.
D.El.Ed CET Exam syllabus and test pattern
The eligible candidates, upon getting their admit cards, need to appear on the date of entrance for an offline examination that is based on OMR-type questions. The exam is inclusive of 100 MCQ-type objective questions each accounting for 1 mark. The 100 mark questions are divided into the below subject categories-

The syllabus for the examination is the same as any other competitive examination. There will be a negative marking on every 3 wrongly answered questions.
All questions asked under English, Hindi, or Numeric Aptitude will be as per the syllabus of your 12th standard examination. The General Awareness section questions will be mainly based on Himachal Pradesh.
It’s a mandate to use a black or blue ballpoint pen while filling up the OMR Sheet.
Results of JBT CET 2024
Post the examination, the answered OMR sheets will be evaluated by the HPBOSE authorities. The results are expected to be declared at the end of July or within August. It will be updated on the official website of HPBOSE.
To pass the exam look for the minimum marks criterion in the results:
- 50% score for candidates under General Candidates.
- 45% score for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
- 35% score is acceptable for students applying under Sports Quota (National and State Level Players only).
These marks will be tallied by the officials of the boar for sorting students in order to give them admission in the course of JBT.
Checking the results from the official website will be easy. All you need will be your hall ticket or roll number, as mentioned in the admit card.
HP Board Counselling for JBT Course
Before you get selected for the JBT course, counseling is essential. Go through the below steps for successful counseling-

- Submit your counseling form online.
- Choose from the enlisted college to apply.
- Counseling takes place based on the officially announced Merit List.

- Your documents will be verified by the board before referring to college.
- Report to your college on time.
- Pay the college fees and confirm your seat.
- Counseling will take place in 3 different rounds.
