Aim of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyala

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. It is an autonomous body. It works under MHRD, Government Of India. Jawahar Navodaya Schools are co-educational residential schools. Education in these schools is free of cost.

Boarding, Lodging, books, and uniforms all things are freely provided in these schools. These schools have been opened mainly to provide a good education for rural students. The schools are established to serve some specific aims.

These aims are:-

  • To provide good quality modern education
  • To inculcate values
  • To give awareness of the environment

Eligibility

  1. Only candidates from the same district are eligible. The same district means where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was opened.
  2. The candidate must be studying in the 5th class of the Govt. or Govt Aided school.
  3. The candidate must be from 9 to 13 years of age
  4. The candidate must be a student of class 5th before 30th September
  5. There will not be a second chance to appear in the JNV selection test.

Test Schedule

Class 6 Registration will start from 19 Jun to 31 Aug 2023. The Admit card will be available from 10 Oct 2023. The exam will be held in two phases. Phase 1 exam is on 4 Nov 2023 and phase 2 exam is on 20 Jan 2024.

The admit cards cum roll number will be available as per the date decided by NVS in due course. It will be displayed on the application portal. The admit card will be available free of cost for the class VI JNVST on the official website.

Result

The result will be declared in Feb 2024. It will be available on the official website of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
