Winter Vacations in UP 2023-24 DM Order: The winter break this year has been changed. The govt has announced the winter holidays 2023-24 for all the schools and educational institutes of the state. You will get around 15 days of break in the academic session 2023-24. The Uttar Pradesh government has declared early winter vacations in UP. All public, and private schools, (CBSE, ICSE, UP Board) colleges, and other educational institutions are supposed to follow the order. All the educational institutions are going to be shut.
The schools are likely to reopen on January 16, 2024. The UP government has said that they will keep a close eye on the condition of cold in the state. And accordingly, they will conclude the reopening of classes. As we all have seen the effect of the deadly virus on all our lives, hence the government does not intend to take any risks in this regard either.

Winter Vacations in UP 2023-24 Private Schools
According to the official holiday list for lower and upper primary and junior high schools, the Basic Siksha Parishad has declared winter holidays from December 31 to January 16. This winter holiday list for UP has been released by the director of Secondary Education.

In such extreme cold, it becomes difficult for students to attend classes in the early mornings. Such colds can be a hazard to their health. The holidays for upper classes like 9th, 10, 11th, and 12th will also be according to the schedule issued by the higher education department of Uttar Pradesh.
Reopening of Schools in UP
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the reopening of schools from January 16 earlier this year. All District Basic Education Officers are sent New guidelines for the reopening of classes.
The schools in UP for classes 6 to 8 will be opened from January 16, 2024, and for classes 9 to 12, regular classes will resume from the same date. Online classes will be carried on simultaneously with offline classes. Therefore, students will face no harm or gap in completing their school curriculum.
UP Schools Reopening: Covid Rules
- Attendance in schools is not mandatory. But, all students must get their parent’s permission to attend physical classes.
- All schools and madrasas will have to carry out thermal screening of students at the entry gate every day. If any COVID-related symptoms are found, kids will be barred from attending classes.
- Sanitizers will be arranged in each classroom, corridor, and staff room.
- Teaching will be conducted in two separate shifts – the first shift will operate from 8 AM to 11 AM, and the next shift will operate from 11.30 AM.
- All students must carry their water bottles. Mid-day meals will be provided on students’ utensils. No utensils for serving food will be provided by the school. This decision has been taken to avoid the risk of virus contamination.
- Children who are not yet comfortable attending offline classes can freely join classes online.

- In Summer – 8 AM – 1 PM
- In Winter – 9 AM – 3 PM
