A few days ago, our school organized a blood donation camp. The day was Sunday and we were all very excited about it. The preparation actually began a few days ago. We did not know much about this event before. When our class teacher told us about this camp, we were excited to learn what it will bring to the table.
The event was supposed to be held in the hall of the school. The school has seen many great events like this. Our teacher asked us to take part in this event with enthusiasm. We were a bit nervous as we did not know what we should do. The teacher asked us to help and then we started preparing for the event. We arranged the beds, sanitization, etc.
The doctors and nurses team came from the nearby government hospital. We were excited to learn from them and how they go around with their process. Our Chief Guest was none other than the city’s SDM. He said he was honored to be the chief guest of this great event. He cut the ribbon and began the whole event. Clapping could be seen and heard from all four directions when he cut the ribbon. The moment filled everyone with complete excitement.
Not only teachers and students of our own school participated in the event, but also students from other schools. Even local people took part in the event which shows its success of it. I was planning for many days to donate my blood. This came to me as a perfect opportunity. I was asked to lay on the bed and they handed me a softball.
I was a bit nervous as well seeing the procedure. Then I started donating my blood which the blood was extracted from my body. The whole process lasted for around 30 minutes. I came to meet new people and saw them donating their blood. After donating my blood, my teachers gave me some fruits. The camp lasted till 4 Pm. After it was all over, we were called to our hall.
In the hall, the chief guest and our school Principal delivered great speeches about blood donation and its benefits. We came to learn how we can save lives by donating our blood. The doctors joined them and told us about how injured people require blood daily and we can help them. A few students had a question about their blood recovery. But the doctors told them that they should not worry about this as the body recovers the blood pretty quickly.
